Last week I attended the first ever Boulder Carnivore Conference, hosted by Amber O'Hearn, where I had a chance to meet and listen to talks by Shawn Baker, Amber O'Hearn, Siobhan Huggins, Dr. Georgia Ede, Mikhaila Peterson, Peter Ballerstadt, and many more! Here I discuss my takeaways and the overall great time I had at the conference.
Mark Smelly Bell (@MarkSmellyBell) is the meathead millionaire who has leveraged a successful powerlifting career into a multi-million dollar business empire. You may know him from his brother's movie (Chris Bell), Bigger Faster Stronger. Mark is the mind behind the War on Carbs, the creator of the Slingshot and other weightlifting gear and apparel, he owns and operates the Super Training Gym, dubbed “The Strongest Gym In The West” and largest free gym in the world, and is the host of the Power Project Podcast. Mark has recently undertaken a carnivore diet for the month of January.
Michael Goldstein (@bitstein) is a carnivore and bitcoin maximilist. He's cohost of the Noded Bitcoin Podcast, President of the Satoshi Nakamoto Institute. Most listeners will know his site JustMeat.co, which is a carefully curated set of resources and links about all-meat, zero carb diets, as well a MeatHeals.com, which is a collection of carnivore case studies from folks overcoming a variety of diseases.
Chris 'Boar' Bell (@BigStrongFast) is a director, producer and writer, best known for his documentaries Bigger, Stronger, Faster, Leaf of Faith, Trophy Kids, and Prescription Thugs. He's also a carnivore and a co-host of the Better Stronger Faster Podcast with William Shewfelt.
Christopher Sontag (@CarnivoreBarber) has been on a weight loss roller coaster his whole life. He’s gone from 350 lbs to 220 to 180 then back 375 lbs and today sits at 227 lbs thanks to carnivore. Through his zero carb carnivore approach and fasting, Chris is finally healthy, happy, and following a more sustainable approach.
Dr. Brianna Stubbs (@BriannaStubbs) has a PhD in ketone metabolism from the University of Oxford and is the research lead at HVMN, a ketone ester drink and nootropics company in San Francisco. Brianna is also world-champion rower who won two gold medals for Great Britain in the lightweight women's double and quadruple sculls, as well as winning the Oxford-Cambridge boat race twice. She's the youngest person to row across the English channel at age 12.
Alex Danes (@VincentNinja68) is a kinesiology major at Cal State University Fresno who is disillusioned by the fitness industry. He's been on a LCHF diet for 8 years and routinely has used keto for cutting down to lower body fat percentages while weight lifting and intermittent fasting. He's also a moderator on r/Ketoscience, a self-proclaimed former chef, geek, and forever a student.
Craig Emmerich (@Craig_Emmerich) is the author of the book “Keto” along with his wife Maria Emmerich as well as the Protein Sparing Modified Fast cookbook. Over the last several years he has worked with hundreds of clients along side Maria to help them heal their bodies and lose weight leveraging their biology to make it easy. Craig uses the carnivore diet to manage his Lyme disease.
